NYC to crackdown on noise
October 3rd, 2002FYI to those in the Metro NYC Area:
Starting tomorrow, Friday Oct. 4th, Bloomberg has asked police to crack down on “quality of life” crimes related to noise. Police will be monitoring with sound meters outside of buildings, clubs, cars, etc. and will be siezing loud radios, ticketing loud cars, and issuing summonses to apt/club/bar owners who are deemed “too loud”.
Just an FYI to all. However, it’s obvious that this mandate will not survive in court since “too loud” is a relative term that has not been defined in the “quality of life” bill that was made back during Guiliani’s era. These tickets are probably more just to harrass and piss people off.
