Visiting Ground Zero (2 years later)

September 11th, 2003

Just got back from ground zero. Man… First time visiting the site at the actual terrorist act happened. You just have to go there to realize the impact of it all. Walk down the adjacent buildings and look at the scars on the stone walls from debris. The twin beams of light are just quite a site. I suggest those who visit, bringing glasses or eyedrops are a good idea. Windy down there and there is a lot of dust. Bring a camera
too. Always remember 9/11. Never forget. Sempre Fidelis! In memory of Jenny Wong.

    Yup, that’s definitely true. Up to a certain age, we sound out words, look at them letter by letter. After a while, your brain learns to read simply by “word recognition” not necessarily “reading” as we think of it (ie-sounding out words.) It works not as well with other words though such as “creaitn” (upon first glance, the average person would be more likely to say “creation” or “creatin” rather than “certain”)…
