So this whole bird flu killing insane amounts of people in south east asia by the thousands, a lot of governments have been stocking up on Tamiflu which is the only drug that seems to block it. The US is the only “1st world” nation that isn’t stockpiling a supply for its own nation, where UK, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, and Australia have stated that they have a moderate supply to combat a breakout. Don’t even bother trying to get it, it’s sold out. LOL

Never forget. In memory of Jenny Wong, a fellow NYU Stern Alum, who died on that day. 4 years later, has the event changed me? To tell you the truth, yes. If I were now in a situation where I would know I was going to die, I would now fight back. I’m not going down like that. Should we live in fear? No. Living in fear gives the terrorists what they want - us to pull back in fear (the definition of terrorism). Press MORE for the rest of this entry.

Caroline and I went horseback riding… in the Bronx! No seriously, we did. There’s this state park on City Island, where at Pelham Bit Stables you can rent a horse and guide for $25 an hour. Caroline got ambitious and felt that we should do 2 hours. Lets just say our asses hurt like hell. LOL Press MORE for details…

Seems like the media coverage of the New Orleans situation is slanted, and aren’t covering the chaos that’s going down there. The car forums caught up with another one and we found this one post of first hand experience which decribed the scene as something from “Black Hawk Down.” From his description, it almost sounds like the game Grand Theft Auto. Geez.

Alright gas prices is just damn ridiculous. I will never complain that gas was $2.30 anymore. Yesterday gas started at $2.30, shot up to $2.89 by end of the day. Overnight, gas shot up to $2.99, but I went to fill up at 6 different stations to find that they’re sold out of gas (none coming till SUNDAY), and the last one I went to only had premium at $3.19. Then on the way home regular was $3.19 and as of now is $3.55. Many stations are out of gas, and the ones that have it now are just plain gouging. At least the price isn’t $6 yet, like it is in Chicago. Boy this weekend is going to suck.
The stupid thing is that gas stations are gouging for gas that’s already in their holding tanks that they purchased at a much cheaper price. The oil pipelines fuel crude oil to refineries (like the ones in Elizabeth, NJ) for future supply of gasoline, while the refineries have stock piles of already produced gasoline that can supply for months on end. Just look at the containers at Port Newark! Greedy bishes…
I grabbed a few political cartoons based on this issue, check out them in my gallery…
