I usually don’t read most of those IT newsletters I get, but one article posted here by Computerworld was a eye catching topic on a study of how to reduce your chances of being outsourced. The gist of the article? If you’re an IT guy (much like myself) don’t pigeon hole yourself into the technical aspect by going nuts into coding and languages, rather do a hybrid of the technical and business so that you can show that while you know the technical aspect, you need to have just as a good grasp on the business side of things to prove that you’re a versatile resource. Click MORE for my cache of the article in case the link dies later… Read the rest of this entry »

I just got my coveted Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens. I’ve been wanting this lens ever since I went to the Westminster Dog Show in February. Early birthday present for myself, as well as gives me time to practice with it before the honeymoon.
I posted my review on AccessPhoto.com comparing this lens to my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM prime lens. The sample pictures I posted of the results speak for themselves. The 24-105 f/4L IS is not as sharp as the 50 prime @ f4 or f8, but it’s pretty damn close. Enough to warrant me just to bring this lens as my only lens for my honeymoon in June so that I can travel light. I should get insurance on this carrying around expensive L glass.

Apparently people are creating new AIM worms (so please stop calling my cell to tell you how to fix it). My computers at home are all patched with Jay Loden’s awhile back when the first AIM viruses started appearing. Apparently today there’s a new one going around. People please stop being gullible with random links and at least HOVER over the url to see what it is first, or ask first the person what the link is for (yes, even if it’s from someone you know). If you’re already infected, check ou Jay’s site HERE. The fix is already updated for today’s worm.

Most hamsters live only 18 months. Our beloved highly personable Dot died today after living a ripe old age of over 2 years. She died this morning. She wasn’t doing too good for the last few days, and on Thursday had the shakes and overnight passed away. She was refusing food, water, and even cheese! Wet tail set in, very quickly. She’ll be missed. For her 2+ years alive she lived a very spoiled life, gourmet hamster food that was the most expensive and full of treats, many houses to live in, cage upgrades twice, uber large hamster wheel, trips in my shirt pocket, lots of playtime, and things like that. More pictures of her can be seen HERE. She’s the golden one. Chai (the white one) is still living with our friend Andrew.
