My Wedding! (backpost)
June 3rd, 2006This is a backpost to my wedding on June 3rd, 2006. On June 3rd, Caroline Louw and I got married. Want to see the pictures now? View the pics HERE
EDIT: As of 2009, I am no longer married. However, will keep this post here for those interested in seeing what this setup looks like, as I know there have been lots of inquiries. I can’t discuss pricing obviously, but highly suggest you contact the wonderful people at The Upper Crust as they are completely wonderful people and can accommodate your budget.
The location of the ceremony was at the premier orchid dealer of NYC located in the west village at Banchet Flowers on 809 Washington Street. They provided over $40,000 worth of flowers on the scene. Absolutely beautiful.
The officiant for the ceremony was Rev. Thomas Lawrence of which I highly recommend.
The wedding photographer was Kenny Pang, of which as a photographer myself, I screened over 200 portfolios and his truely stood out above all others. I highly recommend him. As a side note, he’s now published and extremely successful, so get him for your wedding and all your photography needs. Highly professional quality work (and yes I was jealous of his uber awesome lenses). Also his copyright is very flexible, and you can see the pictures he took of our event HERE. Man I wish I could shoot as well as he can. I’d probably be fun to shadow him one day on a gig. He put a nice slideshow of just some highlights HERE.
The location of the reception and catering was done by The Upper Crust @ 91 Horatio. The Upper Crust is a well known caterer and they own 91 Horatio as their own space. 91 Horatio is a chic and cozy downtown loft with barrel-vaulted brick arches which give it a true NY feel. They do joint events with Banchet Flowers and it was their package that offered catering, the setup at Banchet and the setup of 91 Horatio. Highly professional, very well coordinated, and it resulted in a phenominal true NY Style wedding. Highly recommended!
The DJ was from The Compact Disc Jockeys who are based out of Long Island City. They did well a ok job I guess. Their setup and equipment was quality, and for the most part they did their job. The only complaint was that our 1st dance song intro was truncated so it lopped off a good 15 seconds of our routine but I was able to recover that time. Also our wedding cake song was totally wrong (we wanted “Sugar”), and he played something that was weird as heck that I never heard before. Oh well, what can you do… What’s done is done. :p
